January 2021 will bring more changes for all of us, and that includes the Bainbridge Island Sportsmen’s Club (BISC). Our BISC Board has been carefully planning for the next year and beyond, with the goal of keeping BISC financially strong and vibrant. The use fee structure for BISC has been static for many years, while operating and regulatory compliance costs have continued to rise. Each range uses targets which have increased in price 20% or more in the past three years. Additionally, the cost of repairs and maintenance have increased. To meet these challenges the Board has adopted new usage fees for 2021. Membership fees have not changed. Here are the new usage fees for 2021.

Non-Member Range Fee $15.00

Update on range reopening Date During Phase 2 of Safe Start

The BISC Board and our three range managers have been addressing how to resume operations of our ranges under Phase 2.  Everyone is looking forward to getting back to practice after we complete the necessary steps to keep everyone safe.

Procedures for re-opening will be posted on the BISC website and will follow Washington State guidelines; you will receive notification when the website is updated, tested, and ready for you to start reserving shooting times.  We will also post on the BISC website short videos showing how each of the ranges will operate under Phase 2, and what will be expected of you as a shooter.

To help make up for the shooting opportunities that we have missed during the coronavirus lockdown, the BISC Board has extended all BISC memberships for two months. As members renew, their membership will be extended 2 months.

Also please watch for more information via email and/or in the June newsletter.  We are all very excited to be resuming operations at our Club.

Cowboy Fast Draw

Cowboy Fast Draw begins at High Noon.

We’ll mimic the shoot outs of the 1880’s. How would you match up with Johnny Ringo? How fast are you? We shoot wax with a single action .45 at timed targets.

Guns, holsters, and wax bullets are supplied free. John West (aka “Old West”), the 2017 ‘Top Gun’ and the 2018 National Champion will host Cowboy Fast Draw at the BISC Pistol Range this Saturday, August 25th, from Noon to 2:00pm. A total blast. Wear your spurs if you got’em.
