FIREARM RANGE STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

The Firearm Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are posted here for your use. They are detailed, and certainly all of that detail will not apply to every shooting session, but the detail is there to be referred to if needed. The level of detail is the result of careful reading and suggestion by a wide cross-section of BISC shooters and NRA guidelines. These SOPs have been approved by the membership and are in effect.  If you have any feedback on these SOPs, send your comments via email to info@BISCwa.org or bring them to any board meeting.

Work Party Safety

If work parties are intending to be down range at any time MAKE CERTAIN that the yellow cords with the “Range Closed” signs are placed across the opening to the range.   If there is work to be done on either the pistol or rifle range this may necessitate the closure of the trap range as well.  Please refer to Hot News for special range closures.  Note: Work Party activities may preempt the regularly scheduled hours of operation.  Please pay special note to the calendar and notices published in the News tab.

IMPORTANT:  Maintenance or construction  work may preempt regularly scheduled range hours and require the cancellation of range operations, including classes and gun competitions and events. This might happen on short notice depending on the needs of the work group, and every effort will be made to avoid conflict.

Special Events

Special events on the  pistol, rifle, archery  and trap ranges may occur.   The events will be announced in the Newsletter  and detailed on our Special Events page.
